The time I moved away from my beloved hometown was when I realized how much I miss its food. And although Georgia has a significant Vietnamese community, their restaurants in America is nowhere to be as good. After five years of living far from home, I finally have my top 3 Vietnamese restaurants to cure my homesick.
Nom Nom Tea & Bites $$
Vietnam is famous for its street foods, and Nom Nom Tea & Bites is my favorite place for a snack. They offer a variety of all kinds of street foods, from the famous Banh Trang Tron (Seasoned Rice Paper) to Bot Chien (Fried Rice Cake). The price might be a little bit expensive in comparison to their size, but the taste worths it all. Alternatively, their beverages are also bombs. They have the best crystal boba. Bonus point is that their owners are super friendly.
Recommending dishes: Ốc móng tay trứng muối ( Razor clams with salted eggs yolk) and Sò điệp nướng mỡ hành (Grilled Scallops with Onion)
Address: 1500 Pleasant Hill Rd #106, Duluth, GA 30096, USA
Pho House $
Where to get the best pho. Personally, Pho there is the closet to Southern Vietnam’s pho ( Yes! Northern Vietnam’s pho is different). When you order a bowl of beef pho, you will get beef pho, not pho noodles and two slices of beef like many other restaurants. I noticed many pho places in America make their broth either very intense and salty or completely bland to the point that sometimes it í not pho anymore. Pho House’s soup tastes delicate and sophisticated, for that I mean it is nor too plain or salty, and still, maintain the essence of the dish.
Recommending dishes: Phở (any kind as you wish) and Cơm Tấm (broken rice with pork chops, shredded pork-skin, and egg custard)
Address: 3606 Satellite Blvd, Duluth, GA 30096, USA
Nam Phuong $$

Nam Phuong is an intimate, simple Vietnamese pick offering family dinners plus classic pho, rice & vermicelli dishes Vietnamese restaurant where my aunt brought food home. My aunt is a home chef, and she rarely eats out. That is how you know this place is legit because she loves the food here. They offer a wide range of variety in Vietnamese cuisine, and most of their dishes are tasty and delicious.
Recommending dishes: Bánh xèo (Vietnamese pancake) and Cơm chiên bò lúc lắc (Sizzling Steak and fried rice)
Address: 4051 Buford Hwy NE, Atlanta, GA 30345, USA

I admire the way you write and organize your posts! I love food, and as a food-lover I am always hunting for new foods to try, especially locally. I love the way you give an idea on how much it could cost to dine there, the address and even recommended dishes! I even like the way you worded your preference in these restaurants…as places that cure your homesickness! I know I can trust your authentic taste too, since you are not from the U.S.

Wow, I love your introduction. I can feel how passionate you are about your culture and it’s food. I can tell your really a native to your homeland, or at least know a lot about its culture, and haven’t been Americanized when it comes to your taste buds. This is great for someone like me because I want to try ethnic more foods but don’t know where to go, and this is a cool way to check things out, for someone like me and for someone who wants a taste of home, like you.

OMG I love Nam Phuong!!! I’ve only been a couple times, but their Pho is the best I’ve had yet. Do you have any Banh Mi recommendations?

My aunt has bought Banh Mi at Quoc Huong Banh Mi Fast Food on Buford Hwy for her students for years so I know that one is legit. And I also tried Huy’s Sandwich and Lee’s Bakery, they are all pretty good. So far these three are the most well-known Banh Mi places in Vietnamese-American community in Atlanta.
